About Us
Quick Facts:
- Our Chapter (the Gamma Tau) was founded in 1970
- We currently have 40ish Brothers.
- We are co-ed. (Yes, women are allowed, yes, we call them Brothers).
- Psi Upsilon was founded in 1833
- We have placed in the winners circle in the Ramblin' Wrek parade several times in the past few years
- We have single-handedly hurled more "innocent" mechanical appliances to their hideous crunchy mechanical deaths on the cold pavement below than any other Fraternity on campus.
Let's start at the beginning. Better yet, let's start at the end (or at least, the NOW). Psi Upsilon is an International Fraternity. Every fraternity is composed of member chapters, just as every chapter is composed of Brothers. That being said, "We are the Gamma Tau chapter of Psi Upsilon". Every chapter of every fraternity is different, but all are united in the quest for common ideals.

Fraternities, first and foremost, are about Brotherhood. About meeting a group of people with whom you are comfortable. While we hope this site prompts some of you to come visit us, mostly we just had fun with the idea of possibly entertaining some folks and helping them through the first week of dorm life (the website list itself should keep you busy that long).
We also hope to coax you to come down to Rush. Rush is the primary time when Fraternities are on the lookout for prospective members. What this means is everyone tries to show wandering Tech newcomers what their Fraternity is like (They also give away mad amounts of Free Food!. If for no other reasons than for something to do, an excuse to see campus, and an excuse to eat somebody else's food, come to Rush. See what it's all about.
Our Fraternity has some interesting data associated with it: Founded in 1833, it is the 5th oldest Fraternity (the 3rd oldest that is still active). We are actually an International Fraternity with chapters in the United States and Canada. Most interestingly, we are Co-ed. That is correct. Women are allowed to become Brothers at our chapter (yes, we call them Brothers). If you can't tell from this document, we do things just a little bit differently. We believe in individual standards, not standard individuals.
So please, humor us: did this site engage your attention? Drop us a line. Better yet, drop by. You know the way. Here's some of the stuff we're doing. I especially recommend Destruction Night; most of the guys you can see on this site will be there.
